Actually, it is also true that we do not have a very good idea as to how the existing statistics are gathered and derived. Efforts to get the Lab to help get those properly defined and pinned down often lead to contradictory results.

Many of the figures could mean something far different to what they appear to. Mostly we only guess at what the numbers represent by their names. A signup could mean any one of three or four different things.
